The original track of Me and My Chanter was made mostly from my voice and my chanter overdubbed in a big harmony of sounds. I felt that this tune was a bagpipe lullaby and something a child would say is, Me and My Chanter instead of My Chanter and I which is where the name came from. It was also an experiment using the I–V–vi–IV chord progression which is why people have often compared it to:
